A friend asked me for recommendations of crochet blanket patterns, and I decided to list them out here along with some photos of my finished projects.
Daphne Afghan by Toni Lipsey
I made this blanket for my baby niece using a leftover Caron Skinny Cake (in Birthday Cake) and some white yarn.
Simple Crochet Blanket by Jewels & Jones
This pattern looks like intricate lace but is an easy one to crochet. I made this lovely baby blanket in white Feels Like Butta yarn for a coworker who is expecting. This particular yarn makes it feel SO CUDDLY!
I saw this gorgeous blanket and was inspired to make my own version. I tried to find similar colors of yarn and used them to create four-round classic granny squares connected via the join-as-you-go method.
Circle in a Square by Le Monde de Sucrette
This granny square variation looks like a flower. I crocheted this blanket using bits of leftover worsted weight acrylic yarn in random colors (a great stash-busting project) and used the join-as-you-go method. I have also made throw pillows using this granny square pattern.
I made this blanket for my mom using solid granny squares which are more filled in and less "holey" than traditional granny squares. I used random colors of worsted-weight acrylic yarn and did about 13 rounds per square, then seamed them all together.
Tunisian Crochet Temperature Blanket by by Toni Lipsey
I made this temperature blanket in 2020 using panels of Tunisian crochet. It was fun to watch the colors change along with the daily high temperatures. This blanket turned out really warm and cozy and I love the stripes.
