Brockton Beginner Knitted Beanie

This basic slouchy beanie works up quickly using bulky-weight yarn and is an easy project for beginners (I use it in my classes). The hat is knit in the round, from the bottom up, with simple decreases that do not require DPN's or magic loop.

Cut yarn leaving a 10” tail. Thread the tail through a tapestry needle, and thread the needle through all of the remaining stitches. Remove your knitting needles/cables and pull the yarn tail to cinch the top of the hat closed. Make a double knot at the top and weave the yarn tails inside your hat. Attach a pom pom if desired.
